Bode George Speaks On Alleged Collapse Of PDP Structure For APC In Lagos

Chief George made the clarification on Monday while speaking to newsmen shortly after a PDP stakeholders’ meeting in Lagos.

Bode George has denied the alleged collapse of PDP Structure for APC in Lagos State.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that a former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has insisted that the party is still active and vibrant in Lagos State.

He denied reports that the PDP structure has collapsed into the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the defection of some of its members.

Chief George made the clarification on Monday while speaking to newsmen shortly after a PDP stakeholders’ meeting in Lagos.

According to him, while the party is facing challenges in some quarters, the PDP structure in Lagos and Nigeria can be likened to the root of an Iroko or Lebanon oak tree.

“I want to assure our leaders that the Iroko political party is very much alive.

“It is absolutely nonsensical to say the PDP structure in Lagos State has collapsed into APC,” George insisted.

The clarification from George follows the high-profile defection of some PDP chieftains, including the 2023 governorship candidate, Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran, better known as Jandor, and spokesman, Alh. Hakeem Amode, to the APC in Lagos.

George, however, made light of the effect of the defections and also regretted that a respected PDP elder endorsed Jandor in 2023, leading to his emergence as the party’s flagbearer.

He described Jandor’s emergence as the PDP governorship candidate in 2023 as unfortunate.
