We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

 

1.) International Consultant: Gender Analysis of School Dropout in Nigeria

Location: Abuja

Requirements
To qualify as an Advocate for every child you will have:

  • An Advanced University Degree (Master’s or higher) Education Development, Education Policy, Social Policy, International Relations, or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in education research, including quantitative and qualitative methods, in development and/or humanitarian contexts, with demonstrated experience in gender analysis.
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience with using education data to inform evidence-based decision-making to address key barriers to education access for marginalized populations.
  • Strong working knowledge of key data sources on education data (MICS, DHIS, UIS, NEDS in Nigeria, and others) is an asset
  • Experience in mapping data against key policy and international priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of the Nigerian context and understanding of international development issues, including the status of the humanitarian-development nexus nationally and at the state level in Nigeria, particularly as it relates to education for girls and marginalized populations.

Other Skills and Attributes:

  • Experience working with UN agencies or other international development agencies
  • Strong knowledge of the Nigerian political landscape and recent developments in education
  • A good understanding of UNICEF’s programmatic areas, namely Education (especially Education in Emergencies), social policy and child protection
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience translating evidence for and communicating with a broad range of actors (including government) on sensitive issues
  • Ability to present ideas concisely for diverse audiences and to give practical, actionable advice grounded in evidence

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English is required.

2.) International Consultant – Programme Management Training Co-Facilitator

Location: Abuja

Requirements
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:

  • An Advanced University Degree Education, Public Administration, or another relevant field.
  • A first-level University Degree in a relevant field combined with ten years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
  • The consultant must have at least 8 years of experience in working on adult learning and training facilitation, including online. In addition, the consultant should demonstrate experience in design and facilitation of Programme management-related trainings. In addition, the consultant should have:
  • In-depth knowledge of results-based management, Programme processes and tools including in planning, budget management, partnership management and resource mobilization
  • Knowledge of the development programming context
  • Experience in working with the UN or UNICEF
  • Fluency in English

3.) International Consultant, Programme Management Training – Lead Facilitator

Location: Abuja

Requirements
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:

4.) Violence Against Children (VAC) Consultant

Location: Abuja

Requirements
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:

  • Advanced University Degree in Social / Behavioural Sciences (Child Development, Gender / Women Studies, Community Development, Sociology, Anthropology) or related field.
  • Minimum of five years progressively responsible work experience in planning and management of social development programmes at State and community levels.
  • Proven skills in partnership building, networking, advocacy, negotiation and organising community dialogues, campaigns and special events around social norm changes especially on ending Harmful Practices including child marriage at community levels would be an advantage.
  • Good understanding and experience in the field of social norms, gender and community dynamics.
  • Ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written and oral forms.
  • Knowledge of issues related to violence against children and women, child protection and other harmful practices
  • Leadership and participation in similar assignments.
  • Expertise in community mobilization in the selected areas.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
