APC has moved to replace Ganduje as National Chairman and confirmed that nationwide consultations are underway.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed that it is in the process of replacing Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, who last week resigned as the party’s National Chairman.

Speaking during a live interview on Channels Television on Sunday, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, disclosed that consultations are already underway to fill the leadership vacuum created by Ganduje’s abrupt exit.

Ganduje, a former Governor of Kano State, stepped down citing “urgent and personal reasons,” after less than a year in office. He had assumed the chairmanship in August 2023 following the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

Morka emphasized the importance of quickly addressing the leadership gap. “We will take steps immediately to fill that vacancy,” he stated, adding that the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) will soon convene to formalize the transition.

Although no specific date has been announced for the NEC meeting, Morka assured that it would take place “really soon” as internal consultations intensify.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reportedly directed the Deputy National Chairman (North), Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, to step in as acting National Chairman pending the official appointment of a substantive successor.

The move comes amid broader political realignments within the party, as stakeholders push to stabilize its leadership ahead of upcoming electoral cycles.
