NewsOnline reports that Afeez Agoro Oladimeji is a Nigerian actor, reality TV Show star, and model best known as the previous tallest man in Nigeria.

Agoro’s burial arrangement has commenced at his residence in Community road, Akoka.

Afeez Agoro Biography

Afeez was born Afeez Agoro Oladimeji in Sabo Yaba on 13th December 1975. He is the last of the three children of her mother, who was his father’s second wife.

He had his early childhood in Sabo, where he was born but later moved to Akoka with his family, where he had his secondary education at St. Finbarr’s College, Yaba. According to Afeez, he couldn’t believe that he would end up this tall as he was not even among the tall students during his secondary school days.

Popularly known as “Mr. Tallest” by his fans, Afeez Agoro, burst into the limelight when his incredible height was discovered and he has since gone on to use the opportunity his fame provided him to embark on a career in the Entertainment industry. He was also an actor, TV star, and a model.

It was gathered that he had normal growth until he developed an ailment at the age of nineteen and when taken to a hospital, he was diagnosed with Acromegaly, known commonly as gigantism, which made him grow vertically at a very rapid rate. Agoro unsuccessfully tried to combat the ailment and stood at 7’5″ which made him among the tallest people in Africa.

As an entertainer, in 2003, upon graduating from the Lagos State Polytechnic, Afeez Agoro went for his compulsory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme in Kolokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Nigeria. Agoro later had the opportunity to feature in movies and in August 2018, I Am Agoro, a Reality TV show which centred around his life and what it feels like living as the tallest man in Nigeria aired exclusively on Linda Ikeji TV.

Afeez Agoro Cause of Death

Afeez Agoro Agoro died at a Lagos hospital on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, after a prolonged battle with Acromegaly, commonly known as gigantism.

Early last month, Afeez Agoro had released a video to seek financial help in order to undergo surgery due to his battle with chronic hip arthritis.

However, it was yet to be known if he was able to get help for the surgery before his demise.

Afeez Agoro is yet to married or have children. Speaking with Saturday Beats on Friday, Oladimeji said he wasn’t married.

He stated, “I am yet married. My attention was drawn to the photo and I need to tell my fans that I am not married. The woman in the photograph with me is a school proprietor. She invited me to an event and the photograph was taken after the event.”

Asked why he was yet married, Oladimeji said, “God‘s time is the best. Let my fans know that it will happen next year. They should watch out and pray along with me for the day. But for now, all I will tell them is that I am not married. The photograph is not indicative that I got married at all. It is from an event like I told you earlier.”
