Access Holdings Names Akinyemi Odusolu As Independent Director Of Access Bank

Access Holdings has named Akinyemi Odusolu as Independent Director of Access Bank.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Access Holdings Plc has confirmed the appointment of Mr. Akinyemi Odusolu as an Independent Non-Executive Director of its flagship subsidiary, Access Bank Plc.

The appointment, effective from May 2, 2025, has received regulatory approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

This strategic move underscores Access Bank’s commitment to strengthening its corporate governance and accelerating its digital transformation agenda through expert leadership.

Odusolu Brings Decades of Tech and Finance Experience

 

Mr. Odusolu, a seasoned professional with over three decades of experience in financial services and IT consulting, is expected to play a key role in shaping Access Bank’s innovation strategy. He is the Founder and CEO of Pacific Realm Limited, a software engineering and consulting firm with operations across Europe.

He also previously led Cornerstone Financial Services as its pioneer Managing Director and CEO, where he successfully streamlined operations and improved financial strategies.

His robust background in both technology and finance positions him as a valuable addition to the Board, particularly as Access Bank intensifies its focus on digital banking solutions.

Leadership Endorsement and Board Diversity

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Chairman of Access Bank Plc, Paul Usoro (SAN), described the appointment as a step forward in enriching the bank’s leadership with global insights.

“We are delighted to welcome Mr. Odusolu to the Board. His wealth of experience and diverse perspective will strengthen our governance framework and drive innovation in our service delivery,” Usoro stated.

Academic and Professional Credentials

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Ife and an MBA from the University of Lagos. Odusolu also has certifications in Oracle e-Business Suite and has completed executive development programs at top international business schools.

Context: Board Strengthening Continues

This appointment follows closely on the heels of the recent addition of Mrs. Ibironke Adeyemi to Access Holdings’ Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director in April 2025. Mrs. Adeyemi, with over 30 years of experience in finance and corporate governance, further enhances the company’s leadership diversity.
