Newsonline reports that a concerned group, Peter Obi Presidential Global Network, PPGN, has taken the campaign of the former governor of Anambra State who is contesting the presidential seat of the country to the continents of Europe, North and South America to ensure funds and support is given to the Labour party presidential candidate.
Peter Obi Presidential Global Network, on Thursday in a congratulatory message thanked Peter Obi on his wise decision to resign from the Peoples Democratic Party, to save his political ambition for the good of Nigeria.
Stating its resolve to mobilize both funds and goodwill for the goodwill to ensure the wins the 2023 general election, Peter Obi Presidential Global Network, Head of Press, Asa Blessing Chijekwu, quoted Dr Michael Chukwujekwu, Global Coordinator of the group from his base in UK, as saying that Obi’s emergence was the first step towards rescuing the country from its challenges.
The statement stated that PPGN, formed on April 24 to galvanize support for the presidential ambition of Mr Peter Obi, is a global formidable movement that has chapters in all the states, local governments and wards of Nigeria, as well as Europe, American, South and Northern America, Canada and Australia.
The group called on Nigerians at home and diaspora to join hands with PPGN to ensure that Peter Obi saves Nigeria from breaking up.
“We request Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora to support and embark on this journey with Mr Peter Obi till he becomes the elected president of Nigeria to rescue the nation, God willing.”
The PPGN Coordinator for American Region, including; North and South America and Canada, Chief Pat Okpala, stated, “We are watching the Nigerian opinion poll and all the presidential aspirants from respective parties.
“However, we will join Nigerians to rescue Nigeria by delivering the most suitable candidate throughout the popular opinion poll result and general election process against all odds.”
Newsonline had reported that Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State was voted as the presidential candidate of Labour Party, after the stepping down of Professor Pat Utomi.
Peter clinched the Labour Party presidential ticket by winning 97 votes out 98 accredited votes during the party’s primary.
