2023: At Last, Jonathan Opens Up, Shows Support For Presidential Candidate

The former president also wished those contesting for various positions in the 2023 elections “more success”.

Former President, Jonathan Goodluck has finally endorsed a presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections.

 

Newsonline reports that Former President, Goodluck Jonathan, has finnaly endorsed the Atiku/ Okowa presidential bid, ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Mr Jonathan revealed this when a PDP delegation led by vice presidential candidate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as well as Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state visited him in Abuja on Wednesday evening.

 

In a video making round on social media, GEJ described Governor Okowa as Nigeria’s incoming Vice-President.

 

Mr Jonathan further stated that he is willing and ready to support and work for the success of the PDP in the 2023 election.

 

On his part, Governor Okowa said it is important to seek the support of President Jonathan and with his blessing, the party is poised for victory in February.

 

The former president also wished those contesting for various positions in the 2023 elections “more success”.

 

This is Jonathan’s first public statement backing a vice-presidential candidate in the build-up to the 2023 presidential election.

 

Jonathan’s support for Okowa implies that he is backing the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the PDP, given that they are both running on a joint ticket.
