1. Suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa is currently in custody of the Department of State Services, DSS. It was learnt that Bawa arrived at the headquarters of the DSS at about 9:02pm.
2. The Central Bank of Nigeria has directed Deposit Money Banks to remove the rate cap on the naira at the official Investors and Exporters’ Window of the foreign exchange market, to allow for a free float of the national currency against the dollar and other global currencies. Following the development, the naira depreciated to N664.04/dollar at the close of trading at the I&E Window on Wednesday.
3. The Federal Government, on Wednesday, announced that an inter-ministerial committee had been set up to fine-tune the Student Loan bill that was signed recently by President Bola Tinubu. The committee, which will meet on Tuesday, is expected to work together and ensure that the disbursement of the student loans starts by September 2023 for the 2023/2024 academic session.
4. The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested an inmate who escaped from the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja, Haruna Sunday, for allegedly stealing property from a house in the Masaka community, in the Karu Local Government Area of the state. The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the development.
5. President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, met with the governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, former Governor of Katsina, Aminu Masari, amongst others. The meeting came up after he met the two monarchs from Niger State: the Emirs of Borgu and Kontagora, Muhammed Dantoro and Mohammed Barau, respectively.
6. Former Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila has formally assumed duty as the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Gbajabiamila assumed duty at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday, shortly after resigning his membership in the House of Representatives.
7. President Bola Tinubu has signed the Nigeria Data Protection Bill, 2023 into law. National Commissioner, Nigeria Data Protection Bureau (NDPB), Dr Vincent Olatunji, disclosed this at the NDPD Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP) validation workshop in Abuja.
8. The Senate, on Wednesday, wrote to President Bola Tinubu about its readiness to kick off legislative business, including receiving communications from the executive arm of government. It said the communication was also to inform him about the election of Godswill Akpabio as Senate President and Jibrin Barau as his Deputy.

The Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), on Wednesday, admitted in evidence statistics reports of inspectors of the February 25 presidential election tendered by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, against the declaration of APC candidate, Bola Tinubu, as winner of the poll.
10. Kidnappers, on Tuesday, reportedly abducted three persons, including a policeman and two other victims at the Ahume end of the Naka/Makurdi Road in Benue State. It was gathered that the victims were returning from a burial ceremony when the suspects ambushed them around 4pm on the expressway and whisked them away to an unknown destination.
