Revealed: Atiku's Chance Shrinks- Ayu Intentionally Fueling PDP Crisis

A former presidential aspirant in the People Democratic Party (PDP) May 28 and 29 conventions, Nyesom Wike, has said the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and the National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu will be shocked come 2023 election if they continue without coming back.

Newsonline reports that Wike said that President Buhari was able to get a big challenge in the 2019 election because of the votes Atiku got in Rivers state.

He said though Nigerians are tired of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government because of unfulfilled promises which should be an advantage to the PDP; Atiku and Ayu have failed to catch the opportunity.

Governor Wike stated this on Friday in Partharcourt with selected television channels in a media chat to address the crisis ravaging the party since it had its presidential primary election.

Wike said, “In 2015, Buhari won Lagos and Kano states. Also, in 2019, Buhari won Lagos and Kano states, and PDP won Rivers State.

“Presently, Atiku does not have Lagos and Kano states, and now he said he doesn’t need Rivers State. How can he win?”

He further added, “If we take advantage of the support Nigerians are given us. And that advantage is to do the right thing [we’ll win] if the election holds tomorrow being Saturday.

“What Nigerians are saying is that this political [APC] that promised us heaven and earth, we’re not seeing it.

“The country has never been as polarised as this before. And then, instead of you to capitalize on that by doing the right thing so that you can continue to enjoy the support and win the election… if the election is conducted tomorrow (Saturday) and they allow themselves to [remain] in this way, Nigerians cannot trust us.

“That is why we’re taking it upon ourselves not to allow this opportunity to go. If they [waste] this opportunity Nigerians have given us, they’ll pay dearly for it…if we’re there saying ‘APC has not done well’ then we’re going in for a shocker,”
