Newsonline reports that the former Anambra State governor stated this in a town hall event in Charlotte, North Carolina, the United States of America.
According to the popular choice of Nigerian youths, the constitutional review would be to meet the desire of Nigerians which would “entail the legislative, executive and judicial actions.”
“The review of the Constitution will be part of the overall restructuring Nigerians desire. It will entail legislative, executive and judicial actions. Ultimately the Nigerian people will decide,” he said.
He added that his administration “will seek to reunite Nigeria through strict adherence to Constitutional provisions on equitable representation in Federal establishments and regenerate a sense of belonging to all citizens through inclusivity and adequate representation of women, youths and people with disability in government.”
Peter Obi told the Nigerians in North Carolina that he understood many of them would want to settle back in Nigeria but are still residing in the US because of bad governance.
He assured the diaspora that if elected he would zero corruption through transparency and accountability and good leadership for them to return to their motherland and invest.
“Some of you are here in America by choice, but majority are not here by choice. Circumstances at home have compelled your sojourn here. But I also know this much: If your hearts were not in Nigeria, you won’t be here this evening. So, once again, I thank you for being here,” he said.
“We will have zero tolerance for corruption; block leakages and cut the cost of governance. Our total commitment to transparency and accountability in government business is the only credible way to achieve limited to zero corruption,” he assured.
Speaking on security and international relation Peter obi promised, “We will proactively reassert Nigeria’s leadership role in African affairs through constructive engagement, using existing sub-regional and regional forums as well as bilateral platforms for dialogue on current and emerging challenges.
“We will rebuild Nigeria’s military power, promote economic growth, and enhance its technological prowess to improve Nigeria’s diplomatic influence in sub-regional, regional and global affairs via peacekeeping activities.”
Recall that the Labour Party presidential candidate had engaged with other Nigerians in Los Angeles, Houston, Toronto in Canada, and Frankfurt in Germany in an eight days diaspora engagement.
Peter Obi will be contesting the position of Nigeria president on 25 February with Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate; and Bola Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State and the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
