Rivers Sole Administrator, Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas has declared that Tinubu’s mandate fulfilled in the state.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (rtd), says he has successfully completed the task assigned to him by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Ibas made the declaration at the Government House, Port Harcourt, following the submission of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) report on the recently concluded local government elections.

He stated that the peaceful conduct of the polls and the swearing-in of elected chairmen and councillors across the state’s 23 local government areas confirmed that the presidential directive issued to him on March 18, 2025, had been fulfilled.

“My mandate from Mr. President was clear: to stabilize the state, restore its institutions, and return Rivers State to democratic governance. With the successful elections and inauguration of local government councils, that objective has been decisively achieved,” Ibas said.

The Sole Administrator praised RSIEC for what he described as one of the most credible electoral processes the state had witnessed in years. He assured that the government would thoroughly review the electoral body’s report and issue a white paper in due course.

Ibas also commended security agencies, election officials, and his administrative team for their collective effort in maintaining peace and order throughout the transition.
