Rangers Boss Regrets Dessers’ Missed Opportunity in Celtic Defeat

Dessers' Missed Chance Proves Costly in Rangers' Defeat to Celtic

Rangers boss lamented Dessers’ missed opportunity in their defeat to Celtic, which proved pivotal in the outcome of the match.

Newsonline Nigeria report that Rangers manager Philippe Clement has called on Cyriel Dessers to improve his finishing after a missed opportunity contributed to the team’s 3-0 defeat against Celtic in the Old Firm derby on Sunday.

Dessers failed to convert a crucial chance to give Rangers an early lead, and the missed opportunity proved costly as Celtic dominated the match.

The visitors were left to regret their missed opportunity as Celtic, under Brendan Rodgers, went on to score three goals.

“We started the game really well, dominating the ball in the first ten minutes with two excellent chances—one with Cyriel free in front of goal and another with Rabbi’s free header,” Clement said during his post-match press conference. “Being clinical in those moments is crucial. Taking the lead would have changed the momentum and significantly benefited the team.”

This season, Dessers has scored five goals and provided one assist in seven appearances across all competitions for the Light Blues.
