A Human Rights Lawyer, Malcolm Omirhobo, has called on Nigerians to vote for a physically and mentally sound presidential candidate in absence of referendum being demanded by indigenous peoples of the country.
Newsonline reports that the human rights lawyer Omirhobo said the country needs a president that would hit the country running and not a sick president.
Omirhobo who stated this on Tuesday said Nigerians need a president that will be in charge and not a presidency.
He said, “In the absence of a referendum, come 2023, Nigerians need a President, not a Presidency and therefore we must vote for a Presidential Candidate that is physically and mentally sound. We want a President that will hit the ground running not a sick President.”
Barrister Omirhobo also advised Nigerians against voting for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.
He said such a mistake may lead to legalizing agbero in the federal capital territory and other parts of the federation.
“I just can wait for the grand patron and godfather of the agberos and area boys in the megacity of Lagos
replicate and legalize agberoism in FCT, Abuja and all over the Federation come 2023, ironically with the support of the victims of Agberoism,” he said.
He further added that Late Lateef Jakande, a former Lagos state governor with meager resources gave free education, unlike Tinubu’s tenure as Lagos governor.
“Alhaji Lateef Jakande out of meager resources made many Nigerians landlords in Lagos and gave free education to many irrespective of their State of Origin. So when someone who receives trillions of Naira pays WAEC fees and goes to town blabbing you cannot but laugh.”
The human rights lawyer also slammed the governor of Anambra state, Professor Charles Soludo over his statement that Peter Obi’s investment of the state’s savings is worth next to nothing.
He said the indication from Soludo confirms that the governor of Anambra State, the presidential candidate of Labour Party for the 2023 election, Peter Obi did something.
Omirhobo who has not officially declared his support for Peter Obi, but supports him inadvertently, added that he (Obi) met Anambra state in negative and took it to positive in terms of finance and governance.
“Prof Soludo, an investment that is next to nothing means very little which is an indication that the man did something. That he met Anambra state in negative and took it to positive in terms of finance and governance generally is indeed laudable. The man deserves credit,” Omirhobo said.
