Newsonline Nigeria reports that the immediate past Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has said he will be unable to attend the caucus meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) due to international engagements.
The caucus meeting, scheduled for 6 pm on Wednesday at the New Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, will be hosted by President Bola Tinubu.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and other heavyweight members of the party are expected to be present at the meeting.
Osinbajo, who was also expected at the Villa, said in a letter of apology addressed to the Acting Chairman of the party, Abubakar Kyari, that he is occupied with other engagements abroad.
According to a statement by his media aide, Laolu Akande, the former VP had in the past “cancelled some of his engagements abroad to be available for the two previously scheduled caucus meetings of the party, which had to be postponed due to exigencies.
While wishing the APC members a fruitful deliberation, Osinbajo expressed his commitment to the party and his availability for future meetings and activities.
