Nnamdi Kanu: Choose Being A Hero Or Villain- Ohaneze Tells Buhari

Ndigbo will see the incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu beyond December 2022 as an irrevocable victimization of Ndigbo, and a sword that pierces through the hearts of Ndigbo.

Ohanaeze Youth Council has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to choose between being a hero or villain on the issue of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

Newsonline reports that Ohanaeze warned that the continuous detention of Nnamdi Kanu by the Buhari-led federal government against court orders will generate ethnic hatred between the South East people, Ndigbo and the Fulani tribe.

Ohanaeze Youth Council statement which was signed and released by its President General, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, added that Buhari is inviting an impending crisis that will befall Nigeria if the pervasion of justice lingers.

Recalling court the judgments of a Federal High Court In Abuja that discharges and acquitted Nnamdi Kanu of any criminal or terrorism charge and the Federal High Court, Umuahia, that declared the 2017 Operation Python Dance as a breach of his fundamental human rights, and the court which declared that extraordinary rendition of Kanu from Kenya to was also a breach of local and international law, ordering the federal government to send him back to Kenya, Ohanaeze gave Buhari till ending of December to release the IPOB leader.

The statement read, ” President Muhammadu Buhari should know that releasing Nnamdi Kanu in its entirety is by no manner or means a favour to Ndigbo, but a political solution on the woes that have befallen Nigeria and the impending crisis that may befall Nigeria, if the continuous pervasion of justice lingers.

“President Muhammadu Buhari should also bear it in mind that neglecting the court orders on the release of Nnamdi Kanu is pilling hatred and grudges among Ndigbo and Fulani people.

“We make Bold to tell Mr President that he has five (5) months to stay as a Nigeria President. Therefore Nnamdi Kanu staying in DSS custody beyond December has apparently made an indelible mark and hatred between Ndigbo and their Fulani counterparts.

“Ndigbo will see the incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu beyond December 2022 as an irrevocable victimization of Ndigbo, and a sword that pierces through the hearts of Ndigbo.

“Buhari should make a choice to become a Hero and villain in the matter of Nnamdi Kanu; hence a political solution of Nnamdi Kanu case which makes him a hero, whilst his stiff-necked character will make him a villain.

“Buhari should have a rethink about what IGBOS have brought to Nigeria in terms of national political cum economic sustainability and what Igbos will bring on the table of Nation growth cum productive, if justice, fairness and equity are administered in all that concerns Umuigbo.”
