The Governor-elect of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has said the country needs the People Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar for the country to move forward after 8 years of bad governance by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Newsonline reports that the Governor of Edo State has also raised alarm on plans by the opposition party in the state to disrupt the PDP campaign rally held today (Saturday) in Benin.

Senator Adeleke who stated this on Friday in Osogbo said Atiku’s manifestoes and plans fit his plan to restore the lost years the state, Osun, suffered in the hands of APC led government of President Buhari and Governor Oyetola Gboyega.

Adeleke who will be sworn in in November said, “Nigeria needs an Atiku presidency because he has the most updated, relevant and responsive manifesto among all presidential contenders.

“His plan for Nigeria fits into the aspirations of Osun people for restructuring of the Federation, for local government autonomy, for anti-corruption, for better infrastructure, for national unity in diversity and for good governance.”

The Osun governor-elect told Osun citizens that all their votes should be for the Pp presidential candidate, Atiku.

“Our votes must go for Atiku Abubakar because he is the most tested and trusted with sterling records of performance in and out of government. A combination of Atiku Abubakar and Dr Okowa at the presidency will take Nigeria to a prosperous level locally and internationally.

“Let us go out to mobilise our people. Let us march out as we did during the governorship election to again win Osun with even bigger margins for PDP,” Senator Adeleke added.

Governor Obaseki said the plan to disrupt the PDP rally was made known during security meeting he held on Friday with security chiefs in the state.

He said, “there was security information that plans are on by some persons to disrupt tomorrow’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mega Rally in the state. I have informed the security agencies that we will not tolerate that type of situation.”

Edo State governor warned that “anyone found planning to disrupt our party’s rally tomorrow will be made to face the full wrath of the law as the consequences will be grave for such persons.”

Obaeki also on Friday inaugurated the Edo Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council (PDPCC).

At the inauguration in Benin, Governor Obaseki said, “Our presidential candidate, Alh. Atiku Abubakar is in this race to salvage this country and rescue Nigeria. Together, we shall be victorious and we will move Nigeria forward.”
