Lagos Governorship Election: CP Meets Falz, Macaroni, Others Over Security Concerns

“CP Idowu Owohunwa, today convened a meeting of political parties, traditional rulers, media influencers, religious/youth/market leaders, and other opinion moulders at the POWA Hall of the Command Headquarters, Ikeja Lagos.

CP has met Falz and Macaroni among other celebrities over security concerns ahead of the Saturday Lagos Governorship Election.

 

NewsOnline reports that Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa hosted rapper, Folarin Falana known as Falz, and comedian Debo Adebayo, professionally called Mr Macaroni and some critical stakeholders on Wednesday.

 

The commissioner, in a statement by the Public Relations Officer, PRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the meeting was convened to address security concerns within the state.

He said: “CP Idowu Owohunwa, today convened a meeting of political parties, traditional rulers, media influencers, religious/youth/market leaders, and other opinion moulders at the POWA Hall of the Command Headquarters, Ikeja Lagos.

 

“The meeting, which was held to address security concerns within Lagos following the Presidential Election and in view of the forthcoming governorship election, provided the opportunity for Lagosians to ventilate their concerns, point out areas of security needs and recommend strategies that would help curb any form of violence in the state.”

 

The Commissioner, who reminded influential people of their important role in setting an example by speaking out against any form of aggression or violence, also charged the stakeholders to preach tolerance, peace and the rule of law to their followers.

 

He added that the Command will not hesitate to protect law abiding citizens and deal with troublemakers in accordance with the law.
