Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti has appointed 100 Constituency Aides.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central/PDP) has appointed 100 constituency aides to support her legislative responsibilities.

 

A statement issued by the chief press secretary to Sen Akpoti-Uduaghan, Arogbonlo Israel, said the decision aims to reduce poverty and encourage self-reliance among her constituents.

The senator made this announcement via her Facebook page on Thursday. She stated that the aides had been selected from 57 Kogi Central wards to enhance the representation quality. Each aide will receive N50,000 for community projects as a form of empowerment.

 

The appointments have been made without bias to political affiliations and allocated to individuals from diverse professional and artisan backgrounds, including young and old men and women.

 

The senator emphasised that the selection process was transparent, and she intends to ensure fair representation for all constituents.

She said, “As the Senator for Kogi Central District, I felt it was important to enlist the support of 100 energetic individuals from all 57 wards of Kogi Central to bolster our representation.

“These individuals, comprising people of all ages and from various professional and artisan backgrounds, not only cover the geographical expanse of our communities but also bring diverse skill sets. They will receive a monthly salary for my tenure as their senator in the National Assembly, with the first salary to be disbursed on June 30, 2024.”
