Popular Activist Deji Adeyanju has reacted to Obi Cubana arrest by EFCC.

 

 

Newsonline had earlier reported that the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, on Monday, November 1, arrested popular socialite and businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu, better known as “Obi Cubana“,

 

BREAKING: Details Of Why EFCC Arrested Obi Cubana Emerges

This online newspaper understands that Obi Cubana, who arrived at the headquarters of the EFCC at Jabi, Abuja, at about noon on Monday, is currently being interrogated by EFCC operatives.

 

Though allegations against the Anambra-born club owner, were sketchy as of press time, the report quoted a source told Channels that his arrests borders on alleged money laundering and tax fraud.

 

Reacting to Obi’s arrest, popular Activist and Convener of the Concerned Nigerians Group, Deji Adeyanju has disclosed that the warned popular socialite, Obi Iyiegbu a.k.a Obi Cubana and told him to be ‘careful’.

 

BREAKING: EFCC Arrests Obi Cubana Over Money Laundering

In a statement via his official microblogging platform handle, Twitter, Adeyanju tweeted; “When I told Obi Cubana to be careful, some people said I was jealous of him. It’s still much better to be arrested by EFCC than FBI. He should be celebrating that it’s EFCC. Calm down Obi. It’s not serious for now but it could get worse.”

Newsonline Nigeria reports that Abba Kyari is an embattled police officer indicted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI over his involvement in a Fraud scheme orchestrated by the disgraced fraudster, Ramon Olorunwa Abass a.k.a Hushpuppi.

 

Newsonline Nigeria recalls that Obi Cubana made headlines when he hosted an ostentatious burial for his mother in Oba, Anambra State, southeast Nigeria in July 2021.

At the burial ceremony, over 200 cows were reportedly killed. The lavish display of wealth set tongues wagging with many Nigerians wondering about his source of wealth.

Several celebrities, business people and politicians turned out in large numbers for the funeral.
