How to Check Your NIN using your Phone

You can check your NIN with your phone by dialling *346#. This code works for all mobile networks; Glo, MTN, 9mobile and Airtel. That is how you can check your NIN number using your phone.

It is not possible to check your NIN online at the moment. You can only check via USSD. Or better still, have your NIN Slip readily available with you or National ID Card.

Your NIN Details is written on the slip of your National ID and also written boldly on the card. In the case any of these options are not at your disposal, then you can resort to making use of your phone to check your NIN.

Once you dial *346#, you will find a list of options, select ‘NIN retrieval’ to see your NIN number. Please take note, this service comes with a charge of N20.

  2. Select NIN Retrieval by selecting 1 in the list of options
  3. Enter the required details and your NIN will be displayed on your screen.
  4. You will be charged N20 for this service.

How to Check if your NIN Card is Ready for Collection

Go to www.nimc.gov.ng which is the official website of the National Identity Management Commission [NIMC] to check if your National ID Card (NIN) is ready.

Browse through the website and select ‘e-ID Card Status Portal’ to see if your NIN is ready and can be collected at NIMC Office.

Then, input your first name, surname, and NIMC check tracking number, and click the ‘check now’ icon.
