The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Wase, has enjoined members and Northern House members to avoid needless distraction over the Water Resources bill and Gbajabiamila impeachment saga.

Newsonline reports that Ahmed Wase stated this on Tuesday, in the Green chamber of the National Assembly, while presiding over the sitting of the House.

An online newspaper, Sahara Reporters in an exclusive report alleged that House of Representatives members from the Northern states are planning impeachment of the Speaker, Femi Gbajabimaila over the Water Resources Bill in the house.

Chairman of the Northern Caucus in the House of Representatives, Sarki Musa Ardar, a lawmaker from Katsina State, raised a point of order on Tuesday on the floor of the House over the report.

Ardar said the report on Sahara Reporters that the lawmakers led by him concluded plans to smuggle in the bill during the holiday and to impeach Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila is not true.
