Fulani Herdsmen, Boko-Haram Have One Agenda- Gov Ortom Tells US

The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom has told the United States that Fulani herdsmen and the Boko-Haram terrorist group have one agenda and are collaborating in causing terrorist havoc in the country.

Newsonline reports that Ortom alleged that Fulani herdsmen receive arms, training and money from the Boko-Haram terrorist group, while they also share information with ISIS and ISWAP.

Governor Samuel Ortom made the allegation in an interview with Epoch Times TV in Washington, DC, United States of America, USA.

Ortom who spoke this in an interview anchored by Douglas Burton pointed out that from the information available to him, terrorist groups including the Boko Haram, ISIS, ISWAP and armed Fulani herdsmen are working for one agenda.

Ortom said he has information on the collaboration of the Fulani herdsmen and other terror groups operating in the country.

“They collaborate by providing arms to them and doing the same thing by killing. Just like the Bible says, a thief cometh not only to steal but to kill and to destroy. So I have seen this collaboration in all these groups, they are doing the same thing,” he said.

Governor Ortom further stated that the enactment of the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law of the State was one of the ways his administration aimed at providing solution to the lingering crisis between the herdsmen and farmers.

Recall that Governor Samuel Ortom Benue State was one of the most affected states by the activities of Fulani bandits who disguise as herdsmen.

Activities of the Fulani herdsmen in the state led the governor to float a security unit on August 9, named Community Volunteer Guards.

The governor while inaugurating the Community Security Guard said since the Buhari government has “failed to disarm the Fulani terrorists who have continued to maim and kill our people at will, the state government is going to apply for a license to legally procure AK47, AK49 and other sophisticated weapons for the Benue State Volunteers Guards to enable them to tackle these murderous terrorists effectively.”
