Fayose has rekindled his feud with Obasanjo and blasted the Ex-President over birthday remarks.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has reopened his long-standing feud with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, just days after the two publicly appeared to reconcile.

Recall that Obasanjo attended Fayose’s 65th birthday celebration in Lagos on Saturday, where he made pointed remarks about the ex-governor’s past verbal attacks. Although Obasanjo stated he had forgiven Fayose, the comments appear to have reignited tensions.

In a strongly worded ‘Thank You’ message sent to Obasanjo which was disclosed on Monday by the former president’s media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi Fayose expressed deep displeasure over Obasanjo’s remarks.

The message read in part:

“Dear Baba Obasanjo, I trust this meets you well. Your coming to my birthday party, I appreciate it, except for your very irresponsible comments at your age.

“You went so low, but I am not surprised because someone once said you are supposed to be kept away in the zoo. Sincerely, that’s where you belong.

“I kept quiet at the event so the world could see the difference between a sane man and a mad man that you are. It is obvious you have lost your sanity, or is this the height of dementia?

“Not to worry, Baba, I shall set the records straight in due course.”

The renewed clash has once again brought attention to the long-running acrimony between both political figures, despite recent indications of peace.
