Pep Guardiola commended three Arsenal players for their strong defensive skills, noting their key contributions to the team’s success in the Premier League this season.

Newsonline Nigeria reports that three Arsenal players received high praise from Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola following their performance in Sunday’s Premier League match.

Guardiola highlighted the effective defending of Ben White, William Saliba, and Gabriel Magalhães against Man City.

Additionally, it’s important to note that Erling Haaland opened the scoring for the Cityzens early in the first half.

Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel Magalhães put Mikel Arteta’s team ahead before halftime. However, Arsenal faced a setback when Leandro Trossard received a red card, reducing them to ten men.

Despite this, a late equalizer from John Stones ensured that the match ended in a 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium.

In his post-match interview, Guardiola congratulated Arsenal for their mental resilience, saying, “Congratulations to Arsenal for being so strong mentally to withstand pressure for so long. That is not easy, but we were patient.”

He added, “Playing with ten against eleven changes the dynamics. They defended deeply, and while we tried to cross, it wasn’t easy against [Ben] White, Gabriel, and [William] Saliba. They defended really well.”
