Central Bank of Nigeria is set to undergo service charter review as has been approved by Cardoso, CBN Boss.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Yemi Cardoso, has approved the apex bank’s revised “Service Charter.”

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the service charter is a prerequisite of the Business Facilitation Act 2022 that is meant to drive the ease of doing business in Nigeria.

This Nigeria news platform understands that it also compels the CBN to completely comply with SERVICOM’s directions on improving customer service delivery.

The CBN declared on Thursday in Abuja that the charter defined the bank’s working relationship with its external customers. It added that the service charter reaffirmed CBN’s commitment to provide effective and timely service to its stakeholders and consumers.

The document clearly outlines the bank’s mandates, vision, mission, and core values.

“It contains the list of services offered by the bank through its various departments and the service standards for each service. The service charter also includes a standardised customer complaints form for reporting service failures as well as a mechanism for addressing failures in any of the bank’s services,” the bank stated.

Cardoso, in the foreword of the revised paper, emphasised the CBN’s commitment to providing more responsive and citizen-friendly governance through excellent service delivery that is efficient, responsible, and transparent.
