Senator Mpigi Barinada Is Dead

Rivers South East Senator Mpigi Barinada is dead.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Senator Mpigi Barinada, who represented the Rivers South East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has passed away.

 

The news of his death was confirmed on Thursday by Akin Alabi, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Works, in a tribute shared via his official X (formerly Twitter) account.

“Good night my dear friend. Rest in Peace, Senator Mpigi Barinada. Sen Mpigi represented Rivers South East in the Senate,” Alabi wrote.

 

Until his death, Senator Mpigi served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Works, playing a key role in legislative oversight on infrastructure development and federal road projects.

 

Details surrounding the circumstances of his death were not immediately available as of press time.
