NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Simeon Amadi, has declined a request to constitute a judicial panel to investigate Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu, citing an existing court order.
The request was made by the Rivers State House of Assembly, which had asked the Chief Judge to set up a seven-member panel to probe the governor and his deputy over allegations bordering on gross misconduct.
Justice Amadi’s decision further deepens the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, as tensions continue between the executive and the legislature.
