Governor Ademola Adeleke is reportedly begging to join APC in Osun State.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore has alleged that Governor Ademola Adeleke is making desperate moves to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Wednesday, Omisore described Governor Adeleke as a “political orphan,” claiming that the governor has been lobbying APC leaders, including a prominent southern governor for entry into the ruling party.

According to Omisore, Adeleke’s political standing has weakened significantly, despite holding office under the PDP banner.

“For the past three years, he has been governing that state without a single person decamping from APC to PDP,” he said. “Meanwhile, over one-seventh of PDP members have moved to APC, including prominent figures like Alhaji Isa Oyedokun, Dayo Babayemi, Hon. Wole Oke, and more are still coming.”

He continued: “Why do you want to force yourself on the party? Why is the governor begging to enter the party? He is struggling, begging and fighting to join APC.”

Speculations around Adeleke’s political realignment gained momentum following his recent closed-door meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a move many view as a signal of possible defection plans.

As of the time of this report, Governor Adeleke has yet to publicly address the claims or clarify his political intentions.
