BREAKING: Government Declares Thursday, Friday Public Holiday

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Ondo Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has declared Thursday and Friday as public holidays in the State in honour of late former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

 

This Nigeria news platform understands that Aiyedatiwa said the public holiday was to enable residents in the State state participate in the burial activities of late Akeredolu.

Aiyedatiwa, who spoke in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, said the burial activities of late Akeredolu which began last Thursday, would continue with the Ajabue, a traditional rites to be performed by Akeredolu’s kinsmen.

 

The statement said a Special Court Session would hold in Akure while commendation service would hold at the Akure Township Stadium.

Time: 1pm

 

He said an Evening of Tributes would hold at the St Andrews Church to be followed by Service of Songs.

 

Other activities include Candlelight Procession & World Gyration by the Kegites Club, Funeral Service at St Andrews Church, Imola Street and interment at the burial site, Owo.
