NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Federal Government of Nigeria has authorized the promotion of 20,867 personnel across several para-military agencies, including the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS).
The Federal Fire Service (FFS) has also seen promotions approved.
The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, disclosed that these promotions involve senior personnel across multiple ranks.
In the breakdown, 5,329 officers were promoted within the NCoS, 5,112 in NIS, 9,937 in NSCDC, and 489 in FFS.
Additionally, a special promotion was awarded to select officers in these services.
The government has also approved a revised training curriculum and new Scheme of Service for the FFS, with plans to conclude its 2023/24 recruitment process by the end of September.
This move aims to enhance personnel career development and the operational efficiency of these agencies.
