Bandits Launch House-To-House Operation, Abduct 50 In Niger

The terrorists stormed the town while it was raining and instantly launched a house-to-house operation and assembled their victims for onward movement to their enclave.

Armed bandits in the early hours of Friday launched a house-to-house operation and abducted 50 residents in Kuchi, Munya local council of  Niger State.

 

Newsonline reports that the terrorists stormed the town at about 2 am on Friday, searched from house to house to capture all their victims before matching them to their hide out.

 

Residents of Kuchi reported that “the terrorists stormed the town while it was raining and instantly launched a house-to-house operation and assembled their victims for onward movement to their enclave.”

Sani Abubakar Yusuf Kokki, Co-convener, Concerned Shiroro Youths of Niger State, who confirmed the abduction said the gunmen invaded the community at about 2am while it was raining, and abducted an estimated number of 50 people.

 

Kokki further stated that it would be easy to save the abducted residents as the bandits along their victims are stuck at Dangunu River because of heavy downpour.

 

The Niger State Commissioner for Internal Security and Humanitarian Affairs, Emmanuel Bagna Umar has confirmed the kidnap, saying security agencies have responded to the call from residents of the area.

 

Also, the state Police Public Relations Officer, PRO, Wasiu Abiodun who confirmed the kidnap said armed bandits and terrorists attacked Kuchi village via Sarkin-Pawa, Munya LGA and abducted nine persons.

 

Abiodun said the Police tactical teams and vigilante men have been drafted to the area and are currently trailing the hoodlums to the rescue the victims
