APC Gives Peter Obi Conditions To Fulfill To Have Open Debate With Tinubu

Former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), has denied demanding N50 billion from a former governor Ambode in the build-up to the 2019 general election.

Newsonline reports that Tinubu alleged that the report of such false demand emanated from a Biafra website to demean his image.

He added that during the tenure of the former governor Ambode, Lagos State was unable to make such amount as monthly revenue.

Tinubu Director, Media and Communications for Tinubu Campaign Organisation, Bayo Onanuga, who stated this on Tuesday said Tinubu could not have made such a demand.

Bayo said, “The spuriousness of the statement is in the evidence that Lagos did not begin to clock N50 billion revenue until after Ambode left office.

“Tinubu could not have demanded a billion monthly payment from Ambode when the state government didn’t make such in a month throughout the tenure of Ambode”, the statement added.

Bayo further disclosed that an analysis of the website that carried the fake news showed it was a Biafra website used to spread fake news.

He said, “A content analysis of the site clearly showed that it is a Biafra news platform.”

Recall that Ambode was elected governor of Lagos State in 2015, but was unable to get the governorship ticket of his party in the build-up to 2019 general election.
