NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has taken aim at Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, accusing him of creating a “massive problem” during their 2-2 draw with Monaco in the UEFA Champions League midweek.

The match saw goals from Erling Haaland, Jordan Teze, and Eric Dier as both sides settled for a share of the points.

Despite City dominating possession and creating several chances against the Ligue 1 side, they failed to convert their superiority into a victory.

In the second half, Guardiola chose to replace Jeremy Doku with Savinho, even though the Belgian winger had looked dangerous on the flank.

The decision did not sit well with Sutton, who argued that Bernardo Silva should have been taken off instead.

Speaking on BBC Sport’s Football Daily, Sutton said: “Why is he [Guardiola] playing him [Silva] out wide? For the life of me, I don’t know why Pep took Jeremy Doku off and kept Bernardo Silva on.

“I’m not saying he’s a liability out there, but he doesn’t have the ability to beat a full-back. That’s a massive problem.”

Manchester City will return to Premier League action on Sunday when they take on Brentford.
