Newsonline reports that the UAE government also declared that such children shall enjoy all health and education benefits as full citizens.
The new resolution of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan did not however include UAE women who are married and are living outside the country.
Children whose mothers are UAE citizens but married to a citizen of other countries were before the resolution President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan seen as non-citizens and do not enjoy the citizens’ right to education and health coverage.
The new resolution, Emirates News Agency reported, will now give full state coverage and benefits to children born to UAE mothers who live in UAE.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs shall issue the necessary directives to implement the provisions of the resolution that has changed a long age law.
The Ministry of Presidential Affairs is also to provide the necessary support to federal and local government agencies to facilitate the new citizenship implementation.
President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said the resolution is driven by a determination to provide greater support and stability to the families of Emirati mothers.
Newsonline reports that the new citizen policy is one among many new policies of the UAE government to attract increasing foreign direct investment.
