Turkish Club President Rejects €15M Transfer Fee for Nigerian Striker

Turkish club President Dogan has rejected a €15 million bid for a Super Eagles striker, underscoring the intense transfer negotiations.

Newsonline Nigeria reports that Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan has declined to pay €15 million for Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu. The Turkish club is aiming to secure a permanent transfer for Onuachu from Southampton, following his impressive loan spell last season.

Despite the ongoing negotiations, Dogan remains optimistic that a deal can be reached before the Turkish transfer window closes.

“Onuachu played for us on loan last season, but his club, Southampton, is firmly demanding around €15 million,” Dogan told Tivibu Spor via NTVSpor. “We made an offer of €8 million with bonuses.”

He further explained, “Trabzonspor cannot afford to pay €15 million for a player at this time. If the player were 20-22 years old and requested by our coach, we might consider it.”

“However, we cannot make such an offer for a 30-year-old player. With only a few days left, the situation is clear. We will wait and see.”
