1. Oil marketers have projected that the pump price of petrol could rise above N700 per litre in Northern Nigeria starting from July. The National Controller Operations, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Mike Osatuyi, said on Wednesday that prices could rise to above N700 in the north once independent marketers start importing products from July.
2. Former Nigerian boxer, Jeremiah ‘Jerry’ Okorodudu, died at a private hospital in Lawandon, Lagos on Wednesday night after battling with a foot ulcer that left him bedridden for weeks. Okorodudu’s wife, Adenike, who confirmed the news of his death, however, said the hospital was not willing to release her husband’s corpse until the outstanding N600,000 medical bill is paid.
3. The Ondo State Police Command, on Wednesday, confirmed the arrest of three persons in connection with the alleged killing of a naval officer identified simply as Akingbohunmi, in Idoani community, Ose Local Government Area of the state.

Aminu Tambuwal as Senate Minority Leader.The Chairman of CPDPL, Mr Daboikiabo Warmate, said in a statement on Wednesday that the group was not in support of Tambuwal, based on his actions as the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
5. Buba Galadima, a chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has called on President Bola Tinubu to sack Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He spoke in a television interview on Wednesday.
6. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the present challenges, especially with the struggling economy and simmering insecurity are not insurmountable. 7. The Federal Government spent N1.24 trillion servicing debt in the first quarter of this year, according to the Debt Management Office (DMO) report. The figures show that between January and March, Nigeria spent N874.13billion servicing domestic debt, and $801.36m (N368.87billion) servicing external debt, bringing the total amount spent on debt servicing in the period to N1.24trillion.
8. The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has promoted 7,000 men across various ranks and departments, as approved by its Board. A statement by the Acting Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Kure, noted that the promotion was contained in a letter by the Secretary of the Immigration, Civil Defence, Correctional and Fire Service Board, Alhaji Jafaru Ahmed.
9. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied reports that President Bola Tinubu’s visit to London after the Paris summit on Saturday was for medical treatment. APC Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, in a statement, Wednesday, dismissed the claims. He wondered why people always speculated that the president had travelled for a medical check up whenever he was in London.
10. Suspected armed robbers have reportedly attacked several travellers stranded on the Benin-Akure highway and the Ipele/Idoani/Isua/Kabba highway both in the Ose council area of Ondo State. Reports had it that many of the travellers, who were reportedly robbed of their valuables, escaped on motorcycles to cross through the bush paths.
