Tomeka Thiam Files For Divorce From Singer Akon On 29th Marriage Anniversary

Tomeka Thiam has filed for divorce from Singer Akon on 29th marriage anniversary.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Tomeka Thiam, the wife of famous Senegalese-American singer, Akon, has filed for divorce a few days before their 29th marriage anniversary.

 

Tomeka in a court document filed on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in Fulton County, Georgia, is seeking dissolution of the marriage and joint legal custody of their child, with visitation rights granted to Akon.

Tomeka who further requested spousal support from the singer, also urged the court to deny Akon request for any.

 

She is ending her marriage with Akon on the ground of irreconcilable differences.

 

Recall that Tomeka who got married to Akon in September 1996, share a 17-year-old daughter with the singer.
