President Tinubu has renewed Yelwa’s appointment as N-HYPPADEC MD for Final Four-Year Term.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reappointment of Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) for a second and final four-year term.

The announcement, made on Wednesday, follows the provisions of Section 93 of the Electricity Act, 2023.

In a statement signed by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the President urged Yelwa to build on the achievements of his first term and introduce greater innovation and dedication to the Commission’s operations.

N-HYPPADEC is tasked with addressing ecological challenges, driving infrastructure development, and improving the livelihoods of communities in states hosting hydroelectric power projects.

With his tenure renewed, Yelwa is expected to accelerate project delivery, enhance environmental management, and ensure the Commission fulfills its statutory mandate.
