New Medical Director For FMC Bida

President Buhari has appointed a new Medical Director for FMC Bida.

Newsonline reports that Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Dr Usman Abubakar as the new Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre, Bida, Niger State.

This online news platform understands that the approval was contained in a letter signed by the Minister of State for Health, Dr (Senator) Adeleke Olurunnimbe-Mamora, and made available to newsmen on Thursday following the expiration of the eight-year term of the former Medical Director, Dr Muhammad Usman-Aminu.

According to the letter, the appointment takes effect from September 14, 2021, for an initial term of four years.

Before now, the new MD was the acting Medical Director and the Head of Clinical Services and Training of the centre.

While congratulating the new MD, Buhari enjoined him to work hard to ensure that the hospital was positioned to provide quality health care services to the people.

Senator Olurunnimbe-Mamora stated, “….I urge you to justify the confidence reposed in you by this appointment and work with all stakeholders for industrial peace and harmony in support of Mr President’s Next Level Agenda”.

Appreciating the President for the appointment, Dr Abubakar pledged to do everything humanly possible to lift the standard of health care delivery services in the centre.

He also promised to uphold the code of ethics of the medical profession and that of the civil service.

Dr. Abubakar, who hails from Kutigi, Lavun LGA of Niger, is a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Faculty of Paediatrics, Member of the West African Postgraduate Medical College, as well as a fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.
