Police have confirmed the murder of Inspector Yahaya by Bandit Terrorists.

Newsonline reports that the Zamfara State Police Command has confirmed that bandits killed an Inspector, Awulu Yahaya, who was serving under Dansadau Police Divisional Headquarters.

Addressing newsmen at the state police command, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ayuba Elkanah, said the Inspector was ambushed and killed by the bandits on his way to Gusau, the state capital.

According to the commissioner, the deceased took permission from his DPO, Mr. Abdulahi Hussein, to go to a bank in Gusau to make some cash withdrawals.

The commissioner further explained that on his way, he was attacked by the bandits, who killed him and made away with his motorcycle.

CP Elkanah said that troops of armed policemen have been deployed to the axis to comb the area and ensure the arrest of the bandits.

“The police and other sister security agencies are working round the clock to safeguard lives and properties of the people of the state,” he said.

“There is every indication that we will win the war against bandits because the tension is much on the criminals.”

He therefore urged the general public to remain calm as the police and other sister security agencies are on top of the security issue.
