Edo State Governor, Godwin Obasek, has revealed plans of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)to deploy technology to monitor the 2023 election across the country.
Newsonline reports that Obaseki said the intention of deploying technology to monitor the 2023 election was to ensure the electoral process is not compromised, stating he was sure of PDP victory.
Governor Obaseki stated this while he spoke at the South-South Zonal meeting of the PDP at Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State, on Monday.
“Convening the South-South zonal meeting of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party, held at the Ibom Hall in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State, I assured our party leaders and members that we will deploy the use of tech to ensure our victory in the forthcoming general elections.
“My colleagues in attendance were; host governor, Udom Emmanuel; our vice-presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State; as well as Alh. Aminu Tambuwal and Douye Diri, our Sokoto and Bayelsa States counterparts, respectively,” Edo governor stated.
He further revealed that the last Edo State governorship election that brought him to the second tenure has redefined electoral processes in Nigeria.
Obaseki added, “The last election in Edo redefined the face of elections in Nigeria and our zone will make the difference. In South-South, we have the skills and knowledge in supporting one another in running and winning elections.”
