The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has warned clubs against disrupting matches, stressing the need for order and integrity in the competition.

Newsonline Nigeria reports that the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has issued a strong warning to clubs about the consequences of disrupting matches. The league’s organizers have made it clear that clubs caught interfering with games will face severe penalties.

Davidson Owumi, NPFL Chief Operating Officer, revealed these measures in a statement released in Abuja, underscoring the league’s commitment to maintaining order and integrity in Nigerian football.

Owumi emphasized that it is the responsibility of home clubs to ensure adequate security for their matches.

“The home teams are required to provide security for visiting players, officials, and fans before, during, and after their games,” Owumi noted in his address.

He further warned that any club allowing disruptions, breaches, or security lapses, under any circumstances, will face penalties as outlined in the NPFL regulations.
