Nollywood Legend Paul Obazele has joined Edo 2024 Governorship race.

Newsonline Nigeria reports that the founder of Legends of Nollywood Awards (LNA), Paul Agbonze Obazele, has thrown his hat into the ring for the forthcoming Edo State Governorship Election.

This online news platform understands that Edo 2024 governorship election is one of Nigeria’s off-cycle elections. With the election just a little over a year away, many aspirants are angling to succeed Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) whose term expires on 11 November 2024.

Newsonline Nigeria reports that as the Edo Governorship election draws near, an interesting narrative is emerging around Paul Agbonze Obazele. His plans for Edo State are strong support and excitement growing within Labour Party, the political platform he will be running on.

Obazele with his strong connections to Develop the three senatorial districts of Edo state has been acknowledged by the leaders and loyal members of the Labour Party. His supporters believe his mix of experience and Track Records is “a potential catalyst for positive change”.

Political analysts say the coming of Paul Agbonze Obazele is a well-planned journey built on dedication and building alliances both in the past, present and future. People within the state highlighted his amazing skills in bringing Edo together in a political environment.

The Edo Labour Party which Paul Obazele will be running for the office of the governor on, has continued to wax strong, particularly following the influx of politicians seeking alternative platforms to ply their trade and profession.

This Newsonline reporter gathered that the Labour Party membership is open to all, and as such politicians prefer to join the party, which obviously has become a place of refuge, giving solace to all, thanks to the success of its Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi at the 2023 Presidential Election.

The exodus of governorship aspirants to the Labour Party nationwide has pitted many of the governorship aspirants against each other in the build-up to the forthcoming off-cycle elections. The implication is that the contest for the Labour Party governorship ticket for the Edo 2024 Governorship Election would also be keen.

The Edo State Labour Party is said to be without rancour, internal wrangling, and political dictations by godfathers at the moment.

Meanwhile, Newsonline Nigeria reports that Paul Obazele is a Nigerian actor, philanthropist, and movie producer who once served as the president of the Association of Movie Producers (AMP). At the end of his tenure as president of the Association of Movie Producers (AMP), he was appointed the president of the Edo Film Makers Association (EFMA).
