1. Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has asked Nigerians not to vote for presidential aspirants “lying” that some persons bought forms for them. Obasanjo, who spoke during a colloquium to mark the 61st birthday of Pastor Itua Ighodalo in Lagos, said the aspirants lied to Nigerians and should not be voted in the forthcoming presidential election.

2. The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Arc Olamilekan Adegbite says the Federal Government has engaged a British firm to revive the Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited “for free”. He said the decision was taken after the outbreak of war between Russia and Ukraine.

3. The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), under the leadership of its President-General and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III has urged Muslims across the country to look out for this year’s Ramadan moon after sunset on Friday.

4. There was pandemonium along Kaduna-Abuja highway yesterday, when bandits, in a large number, crossed over the ever-busy road. The bandits headed towards western part of the main road shooting sporadically.

5. The running mate to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2019 election, Peter Obi, has picked the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms to contest for the 2023 Presidency. Obi is now set to rival his former boss, ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who had earlier obtained form to vie for the same position.

6. Bandits have abducted two farmers at Unguwar Barde village, along Kaduna-Abuja highway. The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon while the villagers were cleaning the farm in preparation for farming season.

7. A Competition and Consumer Protection (CCP) Tribunal sitting in Abuja has restrained Multi-Choice Nigeria Limited from increasing its tariffs and cost of products and services scheduled to begin on April 1.

8. The House of Representatives said yesterday it cannot continue to approve N4 trillion annually for fuel subsidy when the economy is in dire straits. Chairman of the ad-hoc committee investigating the state of the nation’s refineries, Ganiyu Johnson, stated the position of the House at a session of the panel.

9. Governor Nasir El-Rufa’i of Kaduna State has called for a massive bombardment of forests to rid the State of terrorists. He said no good man will live in the forests, adding that bombarding the forests would contain current security challenges in the country.

10. The Benue State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, yesterday, disclosed that there are 27 Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, camps in the State that are home to close to two million IDPs. Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr. Emmanuel Shior made the disclosure in Makurdi while flagging off the months’ distribution of relief materials to the IDPs.
