Further coordinated operations across Nasarawa, Adamawa, Kano, Edo, Ondo, Lagos, and Ekiti states led to the recovery of over 500,000 opioid pills, processed cannabis, codeine-based syrup, and other narcotics, with multiple suspects detained.
Notably, in what was described as one of the largest seizures in Ekiti State, NDLEA operatives in Ado-Ekiti recovered 5.3kg of “Loud” and “Colorado” strains of cannabis along with a small quantity of methamphetamine.
NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd.), praised the officers for their resilience and urged them to sustain momentum under the agency’s War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign. He added that alongside enforcement operations, the agency also carried out sensitization programmes in schools, religious centres, traditional institutions, and communities nationwide during the week.
