May Yul-Edochie has dragged Yinka Theisen to court and demanded ₦1.5 billion for defamation.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that May Yul-Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has taken legal action against her former lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, and a United States-based woman, Yinka Theisen, over alleged cyberbullying and online defamation.

Through her legal representatives, Graylaw Partners, she accused both parties of publishing damaging content about her across social media platforms such as X, Instagram, and Facebook.

According to her, the posts have tarnished her reputation and affected her business interests.

Her lawyers issued separate cease-and-desist letters to Ugwuonye and Theisen, demanding that they remove all defamatory posts, issue a public apology, and publish retractions on the platforms where the statements were made.

In addition, she is demanding financial compensation of N1 billion from Ugwuonye and N500 million from Theisen.

The notice sent to Ugwuonye accused him of mishandling privileged information obtained during his past dealings with her, saying his conduct worsened the situation and exposed her to further harm.

The letter to Theisen alleged that she amplified false narratives about May online and encouraged others to spread them, thereby deepening the damage to her image.

Both parties were given a 48-hour deadline to meet the demands.

Her lawyers stated that failure to comply would lead to civil and criminal action aimed at protecting her rights and restoring her reputation.
