Newsonline reports that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said that it will reschedule Examinations for 2022 UTME Candidates with Technical Glitches and Issues with Biometric Verification.
As the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) tests entered its third day this Monday, NewsOnline Nigeria learn that there were minor technical challenges in some of the Computer Based Test (CBT) centres.
The 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) commenced on Friday, May 6th 2022 across the nation.
About 1,761,338 registered for this year’s UTME taking place across 755 computer-based centres between May 6 and 16, 2022.
Newsonline correspondent observed during visits to some centers that there were minor technical glitches and issues in biometric VERIFICATION.
At the Digital Bridge Institute, Abuja, some students had difficulty with biometric verification. The examination which was billed to commence 7 am, started a few minutes after 8 am while the one scheduled to commence 9 am started at 10:30am.
Our reporter gathered that the reason for the delay was the minor hitches in biometric verification. However, the general process was observed to be seamless compared to that of 2021.
Meanwhile, the operators of the CBT centre commended JAMB, saying the hitches experienced were minor compared to previous years.
The Public Relations Officer of the board, JAMB, Fabian Benjamin who spoke to the Nation confirmed the development
The official added that only candidates affected by technical challenges as a result of their centres would have the opportunity to retake the examination.
The source said: “Rainfall is not an issue because others have written. It was the same Lagos. It was raining and some people came to write the examination.
“Our process is that as long as others have written that examination we cannot reschedule it for any candidates.
“If it is a technical issue we can reschedule but rainfall is not an issue. For those whose session was disrupted by the rain, we will not reschedule”
