GTCO has celebrated 15 Years of Autism Advocacy with Pan-African Conference, “From Awareness to Action”.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO) is set to mark a major milestone in its autism advocacy efforts as it hosts the 15th edition of its annual Autism Conference, themed “From Awareness to Action: 15 Years of Advancing Autism Inclusion.”

The flagship event, part of the bank’s renowned Orange Ribbon Initiative, kicks off on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, and will run through July 16. This will be followed by three days of one-on-one clinic consultations from July 17 to 19 at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja.

Expanding its impact across borders, GTCO will also host the second Ghana edition of the conference at the University of Professional Studies, Accra. The Ghana sessions will feature a workshop on July 21 and continue with clinic consultations from July 22 to 24.

Speaking ahead of the event, Group Chief Executive Officer of GTCO Plc, Mr. Segun Agbaje, highlighted the company’s enduring commitment to neurodiversity. “The Orange Ribbon Initiative began in 2009 as our commitment to advocate for children with neurodevelopmental disorders and support their families and caregivers,” he said. “What started as a simple but focused effort has evolved into a transformative journey that shapes the way we advocate, listen, and respond. Our aim is to promote early intervention and build a future where every child has the opportunity to thrive.”

Now in its fifteenth year, the GTCO Autism Programme continues to champion inclusion and support for individuals with autism across Africa. The initiative brings together professionals, caregivers, and stakeholders to share knowledge, build capacity, and foster empathy within the wider community.

Also speaking at a press briefing, GTCO’s Chief Communications Officer, Oyinade Adegbite, emphasized the comprehensive scope of this year’s programme. “We have designed two full days of engaging conference sessions featuring both local and international experts, followed by three days of free clinical consultations. This model will also be replicated in Ghana, reflecting our pan-African commitment to autism advocacy.”

GTCO’s Autism Conference has become a beacon of hope and education for thousands of families and healthcare professionals, reinforcing the company’s role as a socially responsible corporate leader dedicated to building inclusive communities.
