Fidelity Bank has partnered Greenfingers to plant trees and clean up Elegushi Beach in a sustainability drive.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Fidelity Bank Plc has collaborated with Greenfingers Wildlife Initiative to plant trees and carry out a beach clean-up at Elegushi Beach, Lekki, as part of its environmental sustainability efforts under the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP).

The initiative was driven and funded by the bank’s newly inducted Vault Class employees, with additional financial support from Fidelity Bank, reinforcing its commitment to climate action, marine conservation, and environmental stewardship.

Speaking on the exercise, Divisional Head, Brand and Communications, Dr Meksley Nwagboh, said environmental protection remains a key pillar of the bank’s corporate social responsibility agenda, adding that tree planting plays a critical role in Fidelity’s climate action strategy.

“We believe protecting the earth is a shared responsibility. This is not a one-off project but part of our sustained efforts to promote environmentally responsible practices,” Nwagboh said, while highlighting the bank’s ongoing partnership with the Nigerian Conservation Foundation.

During the clean-up, volunteers removed plastic waste and other debris from the shoreline and adjoining areas to help protect marine life and improve the coastal environment.

Founder of Greenfingers Wildlife Initiative, Mr Chinedu Mogbo, commended Fidelity Bank for the partnership, noting that such collaborations contribute to safer ecosystems for humans and wildlife while enhancing the natural beauty of public spaces.

Fidelity Bank currently serves over 9.1 million customers across 255 business offices and digital platforms nationwide. The bank has recently received several accolades, including Best Bank for SMEs by Euromoney and Export Financing Bank of the Year at the BusinessDay BAFI Awards.
