65th Independence Anniversary

FG has unveiled the theme for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the official theme for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary: “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.”

The announcement was contained in a statement released on Wednesday by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

According to the statement, the theme emphasizes the importance of unity, patriotism, and collaboration across government institutions, the private sector, civil society, and the general public in building a nation of peace, prosperity, and progress.

“Since independence on October 1, 1960, our nation has endured challenges while recording remarkable progress across sectors. Consolidating these gains requires collective effort to push for higher achievements in building a stronger, greater Nigeria,” the statement read.

It further stressed that all government activities and programmes leading up to the celebrations will align with the theme to reinforce its relevance within the framework of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

As part of the 65th Independence celebrations, key events include a Juma’at prayer on Friday, September 26 at 1 pm, an inter-denominational church service on Sunday, September 28 at 10 am, and a world press conference scheduled for Monday, September 29 at 10 am.
